When you dream, you see things from the way they affect you, or affect people you know. When someone else has the same Dreams, there are usually atoms of similarities but still, each dream could be tailored to the host’s personal experiences.

In this article, we will give tips and guidance on how you can interpret your dreams, with spiritual and biblical allusions, so as to gain a better understanding of them, should they include special messages.

Remembering Your Dreams

To be able to interpret your dreams, it is first of all important to remember them. According to a CBS News poll taken in 2021, only about 10% of Americans say that they always remember their dreams, 21% believe they remember their dreams most of the time, 34% say sometimes they do remember, 24% rarely, and 10% say they never remember these dreams at all.

Of course, everybody dreams, and at our point of sleep, we live these dreams. However, sometimes you wake up and you feel troubled about a dream you had, but you can’t even remember this dream. If you do not remember your dream, interpreting it would be difficult. Here are some tips to help with remember your dreams:

JOURNALING: Always write everything you remember about a dream while you can still remember it, or whenever it randomly flashes through your mind. It is not unusual for this to happen. Doing this will make it easier for you to paint out these events when you want to dwell on God’s word about it.

Write down numbers you saw, names, figures, directions, places,  images, and even colors. Although the holy spirit will guide you through making sense of your dreams, detailing a dream just how you saw it helps to a large extent.

MAKE A VOICE RECORDING: this is just like journaling, except this can be done faster, more expressively, and involves giving an oral account of your dreams while you make a voice recording of yourself.

WAKE UP NATURALLY: when you wake up naturally, you tend to have more control over your emotions and thoughts, making it easier to have a grasp of your dreams, and even process them. If you have to wait for an alarm to wake you up, it does so abruptly, cutting short your dream cycle and possibly disorganizing your thoughts.

Interpreting your dreams

Now let us look at the various ways by which you can have a clearer understanding of your dreams.

New Birth In Christ

When it comes to the interpretation of dreams, the theme of new birth in Christ is often the easiest to recognize. This is the part that makes it important to journal if you are one who forgets dreams. Dreams that pertain to new birth in Christ usually come in metaphors that symbolize rebirth, transformation, or cleansing. This is a call from God to leave your present way of life and chart a new one with Christ.

Dreams about transformation and rebirth are of great significance to personal well-being and spirituality. When you see things that are related to resurrection or imagery of something that was formerly dead coming back alive and better, this is a message that your spiritual deadness has become a thing of the past, and you are walking into a dimension of new life in Christ.

In John Chapter 3 Vs 3, Jesus Christ speaks to Nicodemus about being born again and its importance to children of God who want to walk with him. When a dream has elements of something even given life, it could mean a spiritual rebirth for you and a new journey of faith in Christ.

Another important use of symbolism for a new life in Christ in your dreams is baptism. The concept of baptism is a sign of things to come, things of Christ, and not of old as you were used to. This kind of dream tells you that old things pass away, and everything else becomes new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Holy Living

When you dream, and see images that allude to personal virtues, or see yourself being engaged in morally upright actions that might not be strange to your codes of conduct in real life, this a sign of holy living. It shows that your way of life indeed pleases God, and you are on the right path.

Dreams can be a mirror of our thoughts and actions. Things you see in dreams can be a commendation of your actions or a call to a new way of acting.

If you dream of angelic beings, or about characters who are deemed morally upright and spiritually righteous, these dreams symbolize how you should emulate these characters and strive to live a holy life like them. For as the bible says in 1st Peter 1:15-16, “But as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct because it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.’”

Communing with the Father Often

One way to interpret things you see while dreaming is by communing or having your own personal moments with the father from time to time. Dreams in their own sense are already a form of communication with God the Father, however, it is also meant to foster a better communing relationship with you and God.

As Jesus Christ said in Matthew 6:6,

In Matthew 6:6,  “But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen.” What this does is emphasize the importance of always communing with the father. This is a round way concept, dreams are a way to commune with God, dreams should also foster your relationship with God in real life in a bid to better understand dream communications.

Having silent times where you meditate on the Lord’s doing, and also time to pray helps you to understand your dream life more than ever.

Studying the Word

One major and pivotal way by which you can interpret your dreams is by studying the word of God. The Bible is the most complete body of knowledge that transcends the physical I to the spiritual and gives meanings to occurrences that would have been otherwise difficult to explain.

Regularly studying the word of God helps you to create a solid base to interpret your dreams in the form that best applies to your situations. Usually, your dreams will derive themes and symbols from the bible, your knowledge of the word through diligent study will aid you in recognizing the meanings behind dreams.

In conclusion…

As you try to attempt to Interpret your dreams or that of your loved ones, understand that dreams have a largely spiritual undertone and this can best be understood by applying biblical approaches.
