Jesus Calling: Resting in My Presence and Strength

It’s perfectly human to experience distractions. When your mind drifts during prayer, don’t be discouraged or frustrated. Instead, gently guide your thoughts back to Me. Share a quiet smile with Me, confident in the knowledge that I understand your struggles. Celebrate My boundless love for you—a love that knows no limits or conditions. Whisper My Name with a heart full of peace, knowing that I will never abandon you. Let these moments of stillness weave through your day, bringing you closer to Me. This practice will nurture a calm and gentle spirit, which is precious in My sight.

When you live in close communion with Me, the Light of My Presence radiates through you, becoming a blessing to others. Your vulnerabilities and imperfections create openings for My Light to shine through, revealing the knowledge of My Glory. In your weakness, My strength is made perfect and most effective.

Deuteronomy 31:6 (ESV)
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

1 Peter 3:4 (ESV)
“…but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.”

2 Corinthians 4:6-7 (ESV)
“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.”

2 Corinthians 12:9 (AMP)
“But He has said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.’ Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.”

Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

My Prayer
Lord, help me embrace the reality that distractions in prayer are a normal part of being human. Remind me that the most important thing is to keep returning to You. Thank You for always being fully present and attentive to me, even when I falter. It amazes me, Lord, that You know me so intimately, as well as every person throughout eternity. This truth humbles me and reminds me of Your infinite nature in contrast to my limits.

In You, I find rest. You work through me just as I am. You don’t require a flawless or perfect vessel to display Your glory. You are the potter, and we are the clay, shaped by Your hands to fulfill Your purpose. Thank You for reminding me of this beautiful truth. Help me to continually praise You.

I can be strong and courageous—not because of my own abilities, but because You, Lord, go with me. You will never leave me or forsake me. The beauty within me comes from Your presence. Your light shines through any vessel, regardless of its condition. Your power is most evident in my weakness. So, Lord, keep me humble and aligned with You. Help me resist the mindset of this world, which equates worth with strength, success, or perfection. True peace is only found in You.

Amen.
