The Unity and Work of the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Praise the Lord, and thanks be to God. I would like to share a few words with you. Recently, I shared a video on the Word of God. If you have seen it, you know it was about how the Holy Spirit, the Father, and the Son work together in unity. They are in complete agreement, and one does not work against the other. This is the same behavior that should be seen in the Church. One church should not oppose another church, and one servant should not oppose another servant. I’m not referring to false teachings here—that is a different matter, and we must oppose them. But we should never engage in personal conflicts or oppose other servants or churches without a valid reason. This is not God’s plan or will. We must not oppose any servant or church without cause. If there is a false teaching or a change in doctrine, we must stand against it, but in all other matters, there should be no opposition.

We have learned from the Word of God that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are in perfect agreement, working together in unity. In Genesis, when God created man, He said, “Let us make man in our image and likeness.” This “us” shows the triune nature of God. In the early church, when Peter preached for the first time, he stood with the other 11 apostles in agreement. Similarly, when Paul preached, he used the word “we” to show unity in the ministry.

Paul writes in Colossians 1:28, saying, “We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.” The use of “we” shows the unity in the gospel message. Even Jesus, when He was on earth, declared, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). This unity is also shown in the Holy Spirit. Jesus said the Holy Spirit would remind the disciples of everything He taught them. So, the church should also remain in unity.

In 1 Corinthians 2:14, it is written: “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.” This shows that it is the Holy Spirit who enables us to understand the deeper truths of God.

Now, regarding the different views about God, there are some who only acknowledge the Father, some who focus solely on the Holy Spirit, and others who wrongly downgrade Jesus Christ to merely a created being or an angel. However, we know that Jesus is the eternal God, as stated in Isaiah 9:6. The Word says that God manifested Himself in flesh, as Paul writes in 1 Timothy 3:16.

There are some groups that deny the Trinity and believe that Jesus is the Father, while others believe that only Jesus is divine, without acknowledging the Father or the Holy Spirit. But the Bible teaches that there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word (Son), and the Holy Spirit (1 John 5:7). On earth, the witnesses are the blood (of Jesus), the water (baptism), and the Spirit. These three testify to our salvation.

In the original Greek text, this passage about the three witnesses in heaven is clearly written, but it is often omitted from some translations. Why this was done, only God knows, but the truth remains that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are all involved in our salvation.

If we deny one aspect of God, we are effectively denying the others. The Father draws us to Jesus, and Jesus reveals the Father to us, while the Holy Spirit leads us to accept Jesus as Lord. All three play a vital role in our salvation. John 6:44 says, “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them.” Matthew 11:27 also says, “All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

The Holy Spirit is the one who enables us to call Jesus Lord. Without the Holy Spirit, we cannot even confess Jesus as Lord. When we receive the Holy Spirit, the first evidence is that we believe in Jesus Christ as the Savior. The Holy Spirit also brings transformation in our lives. We become new people, changed from within, living a life of humility, love, and spiritual fruit.

Additionally, when we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we are empowered with spiritual gifts, such as prophecy and others. 1 Samuel 10:6 tells us that Saul was transformed when the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he became a different person.

Finally, in 1 Corinthians 15:24-28, it is written that at the end, when everything is put under Jesus’ feet, He will return all authority to the Father. While on earth, Jesus humbled Himself, and in the end, He will submit to the Father, so that God may be all in all.

This demonstrates how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit work together in unity and harmony. The Son came to reveal the Father to us, and the Holy Spirit leads us to Jesus. In the end, all will return to the Father, and all will be one.

This is how the Trinity operates in our lives: the Father draws us to the Son, the Son reveals the Father to us, and the Holy Spirit enables us to acknowledge Jesus as Lord. If we deny any one of them, we are rejecting the unity and work of the Triune God.

Galatians 1:8 warns us, “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse.” This reminds us to stand firm in the gospel of truth, without allowing any false teachings to divide us.

This is the message of salvation and the operation of the Triune God in our lives.

Amen.
